HELLO, I'M WURSTMONKE ●

I make
things.

Software, operating systems, telephone networks, websites, hardware projects, fictional countries and a frankly unreasonable amount of infrastructure.

01ABOUT ME

Curious by default.

I like taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and then making my own version.

I'm WurstMonke — a developer, tinkerer and general technology enthusiast. A lot of my projects start with one question: “Could I actually build that?”

Sometimes the answer becomes software. Sometimes it becomes a telephone system, an operating system, a website, a broadcast station, a home server, or an unnecessarily elaborate micronational infrastructure project.

I enjoy old technology just as much as new technology. Vintage computers, Linux, SIP phones, modern web development, programming languages and experimental hardware can all end up on the same desk.

02SELECTED PROJECTS

Stuff I've built.

03
⚙️

LINEOS

An operating-system experiment written around a C kernel with a Python REPL/editor concept. A project about learning what happens underneath the desktop instead of just using one.

CKERNELPYTHON
04
⌨️

LISHELL

A shell and language experiment that grew out of the same interest in building computing environments from scratch rather than treating the command line as a black box.

SHELLLANGUAGECLI
05
☎️

IMNTU

The Inter-Micronational Telecommunications Union — a framework for connecting micronational telecom systems, numbering plans and communications infrastructure.

SIPTELECOMNETWORKS
06
📞

PBX LAB

A real telephone lab built around Issabel and Asterisk, with SIP phones, trunks, IVRs, ring groups, music-on-hold and a collection of old and modern telephony hardware.

ASTERISKISSABELSIP

LITHORIATV &
BROADCASTING

Experiments in building a small national broadcasting ecosystem — online television, audio streaming, station infrastructure and the systems needed to keep it running.

BROADCASTSTREAMINGMEDIA
08
🎧

PYONGYANGFM

A deliberately weird music-on-hold and audio-broadcasting experiment, tied into the wider PBX and streaming setup. One of those projects that exists mostly because it was possible.

ICECASTMIXXXAUDIO

LSA-1 “AURUM”

A Lithorian space-agency concept centered around a mission-control simulator and physical Raspberry Pi hardware — turning a fictional space program into something you can actually interact with.

RASPBERRY PISIMULATIONSPACE
10
📻

PMRDECK

A portable offline computing and communications concept built around a Polycom Mobile Responder, Raspberry Pi, local knowledge, private networking and removable storage.

LITHORIAN
LANGUAGE

A constructed language project combining influences from Ancient and Modern Greek, German and English, with its own phonology, vocabulary and evolving grammar.

VINTAGE COMPUTER
LAB

Keeping older machines useful: Windows 2000 systems, Red Star OS experiments, dial-up networking and learning what computing looked like before everything became a browser tab.

RETROTECHWINDOWSLINUX
13
🧾

WURSTDONALD'S POS

A full point-of-sale interface experiment with menus, kiosk ordering, admin tools, reports, earnings data and export functionality — built as a complete working web application.

WEB APPUIDATABASE

🌐

LITHORIA DIGITAL
INFRASTRUCTURE

A growing collection of interconnected services: government portals, MWW/intranet concepts, LithBank, citizen systems, archives, emergency alerts, weather, aviation and other national services.

04Hardware & retrocomputingOld PCs, phones, networking equipment and unusual hardware projects.
04INTERESTS

More than just
computers.

LANGUAGES

German, Greek, Bosnian and experiments with constructed and historical languages.

HISTORY

Ancient history, modern history, old technology and the stories behind the things we use.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Telephone networks, numbering plans, SIP, radio, dial-up and communications infrastructure.

HARDWARE

Old computers, phones, servers, networking equipment and turning random hardware into useful projects.

WORLD-BUILDING

Creating places, institutions, languages, systems and entire worlds with enough detail to actually work.

MAKING THINGS

If it can be built, modified, repaired, programmed or unnecessarily over-engineered, I'm interested.

If I don't know how it works, that's usually a pretty good reason to find out.
